Circling round and round ever she searches looking carefully for the hapless soul that she needs to survive. Unknown below, the souls that roam the earth, good and bad, each give off their own particular aura. She likes the pretty ones, so she soars high above to spot them. When she finds one alone, it becomes her prey and that soul is taken hostage and will not be able to find rest again. Its energy of fear and confusion feeds her thirst for power, ever above, ever searching.

The soul hunter, esquisite in many ways when viewed on earth, seems to be gracious and full of wisdom and knowledge. She uses her wiles to get people to do her bidding. She keeps those who fawn over her close to her and protected from earthly harm. All those that follow her charms and her whims, their souls are allowed to stay because they are not worth much anyway as their aura has been darkened by their deeds. She holds out a promise that she can fulfill the meaning of life and grant people the peace they desire. Inside she is a boiling pot of poison and evil. No one that looks on the outside can see inside for if they did they would run in terror. In her own eyes she cannot be defeated. The One still sees.

Until the battle that will end her reign of terror, she will continue her divinations, her spells, and her soul hunts. Many people that believe in good have fallen under her spell and have become one of the wandering souls in her prison. Too early good people are gone. In her world the evil are protected and live much longer than they should. She does not tell those around her that she knows of a power greater than hers. For now, she keeps the secret close to her heart; for in her spells is her power and fear gives her greedy gains of power over the weak-minded. Perhaps the battle of power will not come.

In her folly and gloating over all her souls, she ignores the One that can cause her harm, so on she goes with her soul hunts. Delighted with each hunt, listening to the cries of her prey souls, her ego and the adreneline rush keeps her hunting. Daily she goes out. Sometimes she hunts in the streets of the city, sometimes in the suburbs and sometimes even ventures further afield, but the cities hold the most prey. The souls are so busy with life that they rarely look up to see the awful truth of her rein of terror. They do not lift their eyes to the heavens to see the real beauty that is there. They are so busy with what they think is important, they become prey, and the prettiest ones are often the ones who think they see so clearly. Oh so lucky they cannot see her coming for them! They are blinded by their own busyness. Yet One sees.

Then the day came when everything changed. The light was so bright in the skies she could not hunt from above. She was used to soaring in the dark skies but now flying was impossible. On earth she could not always see the aura she sought so desperately. Weakness was finding her because of the light. Fear now took hold of her heart and her fear was the same as souls that she held in prison.

The skies grew brighter and the storms became stronger. The waves crashed over her. She was loosing grip of all her decieving power. The prison that she kept her souls in began to shake until the doors began to open. Not just one-by-one did they open, but with each wave more and more souls were ripped from their cells and from her hands. Wailing in fear and terror, she now felt the wrath of the only One that could defeat her. She had hoped he did not see and would grow tired of caring for these people. She thought wrong. With sudden fury and strength with His outstretched arm and with the power of His Word she was brought down very low. No more souls for her to feed on. No more weak people to do her bidding. Defeated.

The grip she thought she had on her world was gone. The power she wanted was in the hands of another.

The Lion had been watching. The Lion did care what happened to these earthly souls. The Lion … He came. The Lion no one could defeat had come and overpowered her and now the souls she kept imprisoned were free to find rest. Now she would be the one imprisoned in her own cell.
Good story? Fantasy? Could there even be a little bit of truth to this story. The story of good vs evil. The story cannot possibly have a base in the Bible, the real Bible, the Word-of-God Bible? Check this out.
“Woe to the women who sew magic charms on all their wrists and make veils of various lengths for their heads in order to ensnare people. Will you ensnare the lives of My people but preserve your own? You have profaned me among my people for a few handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to my people, who listen to lies, you have killed those who should not have died and have spared those who should not live. ” ‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against your magic charms with which you ensnare people like birds and I will tear them from your arms; I will set free the people that you ensnare like birds. I will tear off your veils and save my people from your hands, and they will no longer fall prey to your power. Then you will know that I am the Lord. Because you disheartened the righteous with your lies, when I had brought them no grief, and because you encouraged the wicked to not turn from their evil ways and so save their lives, therefore you will no longer see false visions or practice divination. I will save my people from you hands. And then you will know that I am the Lord.'” Eziekel 13:18-23 NIV
The Bible has stories, but this one is real. Woe to those who call good evil and who call evil good. Woe to those who lie and cheat and steal and cause harm to the righteous. Beware. God is still on the throne and He will come down and visit those who do evil. Take heart, righteous people. We may suffer for a time but He will never give us more than we can bear. Take heart, righteous people and never give up the name of Jesus. Keep it always on your lips for He has the true power over life and death, victory and defeat, peace and wars.
Written in love for those who follow the Lion. Take care in these darkening times, Jesus is near.
