American Freedoms Take Down

I just finished watching a documentary named ‘Raid on America’ put out by The Epoch Times. Regardless of political persuasion every person that claims to be American should watch it. I recommend but do not get anything for this recommendation. But it stirred up something in my soul that I must share. These feelings have been swirling around for a while and now I must write.

I am a red-blooded American at heart. When I was growing up the Democratic party or the Republican party did not mean anything but the person’s moral fiber that was running for office was all that mattered.

Hmmm. Moral fiber. What did that mean? It meant that what a person said is what they would do. It meant that what a person did is what came from their heart and they would stand by it. It meant that right would always be right and wrong would just wrong. But what is today’s definition of moral fiber? Seems it has changed.

Moral fiber today seems to be whatever is politically correct is all that matters. If a person lies to get ahead that is acceptable if it has a political agenda. What a person does, whether right or immoral, is OK as long as they are politically correct. Life has no sanctity so if someone does another in, whether physically or mentally, as long as there is some greater political reason it makes it OK, and if someone disagrees with this nonsense then they are labeled a domestic terrorist.

This political correctness is a war on America, the American people and the freedoms that American used to stand for.

If I cannot speak what I believe because it might offend someone, my freedom is canceled. If I cannot listen to someone that does not think like me without wanting to harm them, my freedom is canceled. If someone who does not agree with me cannot listen without wanting to do me in then my freedom is canceled along with theirs, for at some point in time what they believe should be done to a fellow American will eventually come true for them.

We are living in dangerous times. Right now we are living under a dictatorial regime that will do anything to stay in power, and both sides are equally to blame.

Why do you think all Trump supporters have been put on a domestic terrorist list?

Why do you think that all registered Republicans have been put on a domestic terrorist list?

Why do you think every person with a registered gun has been put on a domestic terrorist list?

Why do you think that all true Christian churches have been targeted because the people within are domestic terrorist?

Do you think the statements above are false? Go google these things and begin to think for yourself. Yes, there are always way far left or way far right people that just don’t make sense. Beware of them but there are many God fearing Americans that are speaking the truth you just have to look with open eyes and open ears.

Why do you think the powers are targeting the freedom of speech? Because of this one fact: One person standing up for the truth and speaking out so the people hear will bring down a dictatorship. So they fight against the freedom of free thoughts and free speech.

Our founding fathers feared this power of a few so immensely that it is why the Constitution and the Bill of Rights were written, to try to keep America free. We are one of a handful of countries that based our freedoms on our God given rights, given to us by the Creator. This is why America grew. This is also what the political powers want stripped from us, the knowledge that we all have been created by God so we are all equal, not just a few, not just the ones in power, not just the rich, not just the people with a certain education, not just a certain color. We are all equal.

So please, America, Americans, look up from your texting, look up from your social media, look up from your party choice and courageously say, “I will think for myself. I will reason for myself. I will respect your freedom to speak as you believe so that I can keep my freedom of speech. If one of us loses that freedom we have all lost.”

Pray for America.

If my people, which are call by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles :14

Soul Hunter

Circling round and round ever she searches looking carefully for the hapless soul that she needs to survive. Unknown below, the souls that roam the earth, good and bad, each give off their own particular aura. She likes the pretty ones, so she soars high above to spot them. When she finds one alone, it becomes her prey and that soul is taken hostage and will not be able to find rest again. Its energy of fear and confusion feeds her thirst for power, ever above, ever searching.

The soul hunter, esquisite in many ways when viewed on earth, seems to be gracious and full of wisdom and knowledge. She uses her wiles to get people to do her bidding. She keeps those who fawn over her close to her and protected from earthly harm. All those that follow her charms and her whims, their souls are allowed to stay because they are not worth much anyway as their aura has been darkened by their deeds. She holds out a promise that she can fulfill the meaning of life and grant people the peace they desire. Inside she is a boiling pot of poison and evil. No one that looks on the outside can see inside for if they did they would run in terror. In her own eyes she cannot be defeated. The One still sees.

Until the battle that will end her reign of terror, she will continue her divinations, her spells, and her soul hunts. Many people that believe in good have fallen under her spell and have become one of the wandering souls in her prison. Too early good people are gone. In her world the evil are protected and live much longer than they should. She does not tell those around her that she knows of a power greater than hers. For now, she keeps the secret close to her heart; for in her spells is her power and fear gives her greedy gains of power over the weak-minded. Perhaps the battle of power will not come.

In her folly and gloating over all her souls, she ignores the One that can cause her harm, so on she goes with her soul hunts. Delighted with each hunt, listening to the cries of her prey souls, her ego and the adreneline rush keeps her hunting. Daily she goes out. Sometimes she hunts in the streets of the city, sometimes in the suburbs and sometimes even ventures further afield, but the cities hold the most prey. The souls are so busy with life that they rarely look up to see the awful truth of her rein of terror. They do not lift their eyes to the heavens to see the real beauty that is there. They are so busy with what they think is important, they become prey, and the prettiest ones are often the ones who think they see so clearly. Oh so lucky they cannot see her coming for them! They are blinded by their own busyness. Yet One sees.

Then the day came when everything changed. The light was so bright in the skies she could not hunt from above. She was used to soaring in the dark skies but now flying was impossible. On earth she could not always see the aura she sought so desperately. Weakness was finding her because of the light. Fear now took hold of her heart and her fear was the same as souls that she held in prison.

The skies grew brighter and the storms became stronger. The waves crashed over her. She was loosing grip of all her decieving power. The prison that she kept her souls in began to shake until the doors began to open. Not just one-by-one did they open, but with each wave more and more souls were ripped from their cells and from her hands. Wailing in fear and terror, she now felt the wrath of the only One that could defeat her. She had hoped he did not see and would grow tired of caring for these people. She thought wrong. With sudden fury and strength with His outstretched arm and with the power of His Word she was brought down very low. No more souls for her to feed on. No more weak people to do her bidding. Defeated.

The grip she thought she had on her world was gone. The power she wanted was in the hands of another.

The Lion had been watching. The Lion did care what happened to these earthly souls. The Lion … He came. The Lion no one could defeat had come and overpowered her and now the souls she kept imprisoned were free to find rest. Now she would be the one imprisoned in her own cell.

Good story? Fantasy? Could there even be a little bit of truth to this story. The story of good vs evil. The story cannot possibly have a base in the Bible, the real Bible, the Word-of-God Bible? Check this out.

“Woe to the women who sew magic charms on all their wrists and make veils of various lengths for their heads in order to ensnare people. Will you ensnare the lives of My people but preserve your own? You have profaned me among my people for a few handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to my people, who listen to lies, you have killed those who should not have died and have spared those who should not live. ” ‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against your magic charms with which you ensnare people like birds and I will tear them from your arms; I will set free the people that you ensnare like birds. I will tear off your veils and save my people from your hands, and they will no longer fall prey to your power. Then you will know that I am the Lord. Because you disheartened the righteous with your lies, when I had brought them no grief, and because you encouraged the wicked to not turn from their evil ways and so save their lives, therefore you will no longer see false visions or practice divination. I will save my people from you hands. And then you will know that I am the Lord.'” Eziekel 13:18-23 NIV

The Bible has stories, but this one is real. Woe to those who call good evil and who call evil good. Woe to those who lie and cheat and steal and cause harm to the righteous. Beware. God is still on the throne and He will come down and visit those who do evil. Take heart, righteous people. We may suffer for a time but He will never give us more than we can bear. Take heart, righteous people and never give up the name of Jesus. Keep it always on your lips for He has the true power over life and death, victory and defeat, peace and wars.

Written in love for those who follow the Lion. Take care in these darkening times, Jesus is near.

Scripture from New International Version.

America – Judgement or Repentance

I have been listening to the warnings of godly men. Men who believe that Jesus is the true and only Son of God. I have been reading and listening to what the Word of God has to say about this time in history. I have no understanding of why I was born into this time, but what I see has brought me to my knees and my heart hurts. I do know this one thing: I can be silent no longer.

I was silent when the killing of innocent babies became law.

I was silent when child trafficking became well-known.

I was silent when I heard of the atrocities done to children by men of evil.

I was silent when men became women and women became men.

I was silent when man could marry man and woman could marry woman.

I was silent except to a few when America was brought down by lies and cheating.

Because I was silent, 60,000,000, yes, sixty million, babies have been killed. Because I was silent about children being abused it still continues. I was silent except for one time about men marrying men and women marrying women and it cost a relationship, so it caused me to be silent again. Because I was silent for too long the American Republic is no more.

I choose to be silent no longer. It is not my desire to offend anyone, but truth must become truth again because the lie the American publis has been told over and over about what is good and what is allowable is still a lie. Now we are staring down the deepest, darkest rabbit hole anyone has ever seen that leads straight to destruction.

The following dates and happenings come from an author, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, who calls himself a messianic Jesus follower. Coming from his unique point of view showing his love for God and this country could this be made known. He has two books, Harbinger and Harbinger II. I get nothing for telling you about them, I simply think every American should read them. Now for just a few details.

America was consecrated and dedicated to God in the year 1789. That was the actual year that it was given to God by its leaders. It was done not at Boston or Washington DC but in New York City. There was a specific place that it happened and a very specific day. On 9/11/1789 in the stone chapel at ground zero, America was dedicated to God. New York City, the picture of financial power of America, was shaken on 9/11/2001 when the towers fell. God’s warning was strong, trying to wake up the sleeping Christians. And the chapel that was at ground zero where America was consecrated? It survived.

What else revolves around that date? The Pentagon became a world power when in 1941 we entered WWII on 9/11. On 9/11/2001 the powers of the Pentagon were shaken as it too was attacked.

God gives His people warnings before destruction. He does not want anyone to suffer loss and does not want anyone to be separated from Him forever. He warns His people before destruction comes.

I have believed for a long time that America mirrors Israel. What other countries in the entire world have been blessed as these two? What other countries will endure such judgements except the nations that turn from God and call evil good and good evil? Just as we mirror Israel in blessing, we mirror them in judgement. Nineteen years after their first warning, the first attack of Assyria, Israel was sent a pestilence. Nineteen years after 9/11/2001, the year 2020, Covid-19 hit.

Covid-19 locked down our businesses. Covid-19 locked down our schools. Covid-19 locked down our homes. Now, businesses are closing. Schools may or may not be open but the children are left to fend and fight for education. More suicides have happened in 2020 worldwide because of the insolation of human beings.

I cannot be silent. America, the only way for her to survive is for the people who are called by His name, His earthly sons and daughters, to fall on their knees…and repent. Repentance is the only power that will stop the evil in America. True repentance of heart because we have left our first love, God. True repentance that causes us to weep and weep and then cry out to God and then stand up for right and truth no matter the cost. True repentance, to acknowledge there is a hell and there is a heaven, to believe that God has not gone silent and does not see or does not care. True repentance for wasting the blood that was shed by Jesus on the cross by our silence.

America. Heed the warnings. Without this key being used by God’s people, destruction will surely come.

2 Chronicles 7:14 has been used a lot as a call to repentance. Do you know what the verse before is? When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people…this is verse 13. Warnings were issued. Destruction declared. Hope still alive as He gives verse 14. if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. And God gives the final outcome to this nation, where judgement was to come, to the nation who found true repentance, verse 15. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer made in this place.

America, so lost, so far from God, so full of evil, scheduled for destruction and judgement, but still God holds out His hand to His children wanting and desiring so much that we would turn back to Him, find our first love. Time is short. He will not wait forever. Our sin has spilled over into the world and time is short.

Repent, for the next time Jesus walks the earth it will not be as a lamb.

Humbly in Christ’s Love

Scriptures from the New King James Version.

Oh My People…

If my people,

Which are call by my name,

shall humble themselves, and pray,

and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;

then I will hear from heaven,

and will forgive their sin,

and will heal their land.

America, I pray for you. This great nation God does not want to judge harshly for our sins. We need to repent and return to our first love. We need to acknowledge that God loves us and then honor Him with our songs of praise and obedience to Him. His commands are not hard, love one another even as He loved us. But if we choose to leave blinders on, as a horse has blinders and sees only a partial view of his world, then He will not relent but bring on us all the disasters decreed for us because of His righteous judgements. But those who have not rejected His leading, who have not strayed but stayed strong, He promises to never forsake His remnant or leave us unprotected.

America, those who are called by His name, sound the alarm, cry unto the Lord our God, gather the people because the day of the Lord is at hand, and in honest repentance and prayer, stand in the gap for America. Call to the Most High and see if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him. See if He will turn away His anger towards us.

Encourage My people…part 2

This America that we are living in is not at all the place I grew up in. I could ride bikes all over town without fear. I could walk downtown to the movies. Now, our kids cannot go to the mall without supervision and even schools can be dangerous. The media is full of hate words and hurtful attitudes. As Christians we are being told that we are sub human and that no one needs our Jesus any more. The evil points at us and blames us for all America’s troubles. Our names are put on terrorist watch lists because we are Jesus-followers. Our minds are distraught. Our souls are anxious. Our spirits seek encouragement, help, and hope. Go to His Word for encouragement.

Why do they hide and act as they do?

Isaiah 29:13 “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.”

What will He do?

          Isaiah 29:14 “Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent with vanish.”

And should they try to hide?

          Isaiah 29:15 “Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think, “Who sees us? Who will know?”

Job 34:22 “There is no deep shadow, no utter darkness where evildoers can hide.”

What about the lies they tell about the innocent?

Isaiah 29:20-21 “The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down—those who with a word make someone out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice.”

Job 34:25-27 “Because He takes note of their deeds, He overthrows them in the night and they are crushed. He punishes them for their wickedness where everyone can see them, because they turned from following Him and had no regard for any of His ways. They cause the cry of the poor to come before Him, so He heard the cry of the needy.”

We are to continue to worship the one and only God no matter what the world says and no matter how loudly the world objects. Our God sees.

          Isaiah 29:19 “Once more the humble will rejoice in the Lord; the needy will rejoice in the holy One of Israel.

Will we have an easy time here? No.

Will we be abandoned by the King of kings? No.

Will my soul fail me when I see the disaster coming? Not if I keep my eyes on the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the great I Am.

Throughout the stories in the scriptures are tales of persecution that led to victory, and at times their lives were the cost of following Jesus. I believe my God can save me from the disaster the evil ones have planned for Christians, but even if He does not, I will not deny my God!

Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego agreed that together they would not deny God. When they were thrown into the burning fire, Jesus met them and delivered them.

When Daniel would not stop praying to the God he loved, he was fed to the lions. These lions were starving and would eat anything. The angels of God were sent to surround and protect him from any evil or harm that was devised against him. He lived unharmed.

Abraham, loving his God so much that when he was asked to sacrifice his son on the alter, in obedience prepared his son for sacrifice. Just as he was going to take the life of his son, the angel of God told him to stop and He would provide the sacrifice, a ram caught in the bushes.

Stories go on and on. Persecution happens. God is with us. He is for us. But we are not blameless. Because of our sins God has declared judgement upon this country. Because of the innocent bloodshed, because of the immoral sins, because of the lies and plots of the wicked, America was warned, and God has raised His arm against us.

Will we still live in a free country a year from now? I don’t know.

Will war break out on the left and on the right? I don’t know.

We have wandered away so far. What is God’s best plan for America now?

“If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned.” (Jeremiah 18:7-8)

What is our responsibility now?

Believe the word of God.

Repent from ignoring society’s ills as if it would not touch us.

Return to our Lord in humility and worship the King, and even if we are sent to the oven of persecution like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, we should not deny Jesus because there were four in the fire walking around.

Encourage My people…

Encouragement—can be a noun or a verb; the action of giving someone support, confidence, or hope (New Oxford Dictionary); words or behavior that gives someone confidence to do something (Cambridge Dictionary).

In this crazy mixed up year of 2020 that seems to have imploded with worsening scenarios of more lockdowns, fewer freedoms, more government control of everything, and less liberty, we desperately need encouragement. We face not enough of anything such as toilet paper, laughter and humor, connection with our friends and loved ones, and hugs and kisses. It has been proven that people get over an illness quicker with hugs than without, and we are barred from the people that depend on us when they are ill.

Burning, looting, killing, badgering, lying, cheating, bribing, and committing fraud in the name of greed and power have become the norm. We have lost the ability to see a smile, caress a face, or give a helping hand to someone without crossing our social distancing boundaries. The ones pulling the strings on our puppet world have divided us as a nation and isolated us as human beings. Our souls are weary. Our hearts are dismayed. Our hope is waning.

Then comes the word encouragement…support, hope, confidence. Do not despair. God knew we would have storms and hard times and troubles, but God’s word is still alive and active. He cares. He sees. He is the great I Am.

Encouragement from Psalm 33

Praise and sing to God in verses 1-3

We are to sing and praise to God. Worship Him because worship is the weapon that the devil cannot tolerate nor can he do anything to stop us as we worship. It is our choice no matter what is going on in this crazy world of ours.

Who God is – verses 4-5

The words of God are faithful and have power and justice in them. The world showcases His love if we choose to see.

The strength and power of God – verses 6-9

God holds the seas and the earth in His hands and can store them in His warehouse. Holy fear and reverence is what we are to give, for when He spoke, everything was formed.

God’s plans are sure – 10-11

God does not let the evil rule for long. He sees and His plans will be the ones that remain forever.

He sees the nations and the peoples – 12-15

God chose to bless this nation because we honored Him. He looks down from heaven to see how we are doing. He sees our hearts.

No one is exempt from God’s power – 16-17

No weapon formed on earth can compete with the power of God the Father.

He sees His people and is moved to action – 18-19

When the Lord sees us we are protected and delivered from the things that are attacking and even in dry ground we will bloom.

He sees us and we have hope – 20-22

We wait for Him. We believe that He is. He is our very breath of life, our Savior and our King.

We are God’s people trying to navigate this perilous time. We should choose to be quiet before Him and praise Him for He lives in the praises of His people. We should worship Him because the evil around cannot bear to hear our words of worship. The words of worship is our weapon. He is our hope. He is our salvation. He will never leave us. He has promised to deliver us. Let us unerringly remind our hearts and our souls, that our hope is in Him.

Psalm 33

1 Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.
2 Praise the Lord with the harp;
make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Sing to Him a new song;
play skillfully and shout for joy.
4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;
He is faithful in all He does.
5 The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of His unfailing love.
6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
their starry host by the breath of His mouth.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars;
He puts the deep into storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the people of the world revere Him.
9 For He spoke, and it came to be;
He commanded, and it stood firm.
10 The Lord foils the plans of the nations;
He thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
11 But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever;
the purposes of His heart through all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people He chose for His inheritance.
13 From heaven the Lord looks down and see all mankind;
14 from His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth -
15 He who forms the hearts who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.
16 No king is saved by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him,
on those whose hope is in His unfailing love,
19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
20 We wait in hope for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in His holy name.
22 May Your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in You.

Written in love,
Kathy

…and to the Republic

I pledge allegiance to the flag –

            But now we allow it to be stepped on, burned, disrespected, and touted as evil.

Of the United States of America –

But we are not united anymore. Lies and corruption and more lies told by those who should be trustworthy.

And to the Republic for which it stands –

But it does not stand any longer.  The extremists of both liberals and conservatives have cut its throat. The officials have allowed greed and corruption to infiltrate every stronghold of the republic

One nation –

But we are not one nation. We are a group of people ruled over by those who believe we are not intelligent enough to make sound decisions while their decisions divide and destroy the American dream by annihilating freedom.

Under God –

But not according to those who kill, maim, and destroy anything in their way with hatred and power.

Indivisible –

But we are divided. We have been infiltrated by the enemy. The trap has been set and the last warning has been given.

With liberty and justice for all.

But no longer for all. The unborn are being killed. The old are being allowed to die because they hold no purpose. The workers that built America are being exterminated one small business at a time. The farmers that feed the American people are being persecuted without thought to the final outcome. We are told we have no rights because the Constitution is old and outdated, but those who are wielding power have that power because of the Constitution. We are labeled as non-humans because we believe differently than the corrupt officials.

In a republic, the citizens have the power and elected officials are to yield to what they believe. We have been stripped of this. Officials expect the citizens to yield to their power and, to a large extent, that has become the norm. For how much longer?

Liberals and conservatives alike are on the verge of losing the freedoms that allowed us to be different and still have the freedoms that made American the envy of the entire world. We are expected to speak only what we are told, believe only what information we are fed, go only where we are allowed, eat only what they decide is good for us, and take vaccinations without proper testing because they are more intelligent than the general public of America. If the liberal people think they are exempt from any of the tyrannical rules that are being set in place, they fool themselves.

America is dying at the hands of the elected officials that we the people elected—and they don’t care. They have power because of the terror we have allowed to grow. We the people made them rich, and when they get rid of us they will be made poor.

So, what do we as Americans and Jesus followers do as we see this inexplicable thing happening?

Pray

Take all of the concerns we have, all the fears, all the lack and loss, all the changes, all the regulations that allow us to be free to worship as we wish, and give them to the God who holds the key.

Pray.

Then believe.

Pray some more.

And be encouraged, for God has not left this earth.

Lay all our cares and worries of this earth down and pick up encouragement from the Lord. Pray the Word.

“You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; You encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.” Psalm 10:17-18

The wicked plot evil – “They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, “Who will see it?” They plot injustice and say, “We have devised a perfect plan!” But God will shoot them with His arrow; they will suddenly be struck down. He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin.” Psalm 64:5-8

Pray this against the evil ones – “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against your magic charms with which you ensnare people like birds, and I will tear them from your arms; I will set free the people that you ensnare like birds. I will tear off your veils and save my people from your hands, and they will no longer fall prey to your power. Then you will know that I am the Lord…I will save my people from your hands. And then you will know that I am the Lord.”

America is not without guilt. Christians in America are not without guilt. We have turned our backs on the homeless and weak. We have allowed God to be taken out of public view. We have closed our eyes to the atrocities that happen daily. But we are not without hope.

“If at any time I (God) announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned….Look, I am preparing a disaster for you and devising a plan against you. So, turn from your evil ways, each one of you, and reform your ways and your actions.” Jeremiah 18:7-8

God is gracious. God is good. God is merciful. God is trustworthy. God is holy. God is also a God of truth and justice and ready to forgive His people.

Return, America, to God.

Return, America, to Him who can change the trajectory of this land.

Return, America, and be healed. Repent of our ungodly ways and hatred and turn back to the only hope we have, the only light in the dark, the only encouragement that our souls and our hearts seek.

In humble love – Kathy

Jonah…

Jonah was visited by God, Himself, and was told to go preach to Nineveh. That visit from God should have been enough for any normal person to immediately obey. Did Jonah? Nope. Not at all. He ran.

He did not want to go to Nineveh, a very-very sinful city. It was a large city because it was said it would take a person three days to walk across. He instead to jump into a ship to see if he could hide from God. Fat chance of that but he tried anyway.

After he boarded the ship, a storm came up and threatened to destroy the ship. What was Jonah doing? Sleeping.

Everyone else on this ship was crying out and praying to whatever god they chose to believe in. In desperation they woke up this sleeping person and asked him to pray to his god. He knew why the boat was in danger. He knew where the storm came from. He confessed to the crew that his God told him to do something, and he was running away. He also told the crew the only way to save the ship was to throw him overboard. They did not want to, but when the storm increased in strength, they had no choice. Overboard he went.

What happened next was not only remarkable but in my imagination totally yucky and gross. A fish, probably a whale, swallowed him whole. Now I don’t know about you but can you imagine the wild ride he had going from the sea into the mouth of this thing and sliding down the throat and into its stomach? Eeew. That would be the ultimate slime.

Now once he was in there, how would he stay afloat? My guess is this fish at some point in time swallowed a broken up ship and had pieces of wood that had not yet disolved and was just hanging out in there. So as one nearly hit him in the head with the water sloshing around (talk about sea sick) he grabbed onto it and hung on for dear life.

First miracle. He survived being swallowed by a fish. Second miracle. He was not being dissolved by stomach acids. It had to be dark in there except when the fish opened its mouth to eat something else. Even after all this, it took him three days to finally cry out with not only his voice but with his heart. He asked God for forgiveness for running away. He surrendered to the assignment he had been given. In this belly of a fish it still took time for his heart to change. Three whole days.

Then came the third miracle. God made the fish swim close to land and then – eew – the fish threw up – vomited, regurgitated – its stomach contents with Jonah in the middle of it onto the shore. I have seen a dog throw up and he has to work to get that done. Retching. Coughing. Yuk. So, I believe that this fish had to work up to it. It was probably the first time it had ever emptied his stomach contents onto land. So there was Jonah, on the shore, sitting in the middle of fish vomit. I wonder if he jumped back into the sea to wash off some of the yuck or just got up and said, “Not going back in there!”

So, Jonah walked to Nineveh. I don’t know how far away he was, but he walked. Dried off too. Hope he got to smelling better. When he got to Nineveh his message was short and sweet. “Repent because God is coming to destroy your city.” That is all that is recorded but it scared everyone like it was Covid19! Even the king of the city repented.

Jonah had given the message he was told to deliver. Secretly he was hoping, not for repentance, but a courtside seat to utter destruction. What a high he was looking forward to. He went a short distance from the city and waited for the end to come. He wondered if it would be like Sodom and Gomorrah? Would it be like the time God made the earth just open up and swallow all the people? He watched and he waited. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He could hear the people in the city repenting of their sins and God in His mercy did not destroy the city at this time. He would destroy it 900 years later.

Jonah was visited by God, ran away from God, got swallowed by a fish, got vomited out by a fish, and gave the message of destruction to a city. When destruction did not come to the city he did what? He cried out to God again and said, “Just kill me. I am so disappointed that there will not be a show to watch! Just let me die. So disappointed. You canceled the fireworks. I knew you would.”

Have you ever been a Jonah? Did God ever ask you to do something that you really really did not want to do? Did that thing He asked you to do make any sense at all? Have you run away from your assignment and run away from God? I mean really, like God is not going to find you? I have been there.

You would think that I would know better than to think I could run away from the King of the earth, the maker of the heavens, designer of galaxies, and I was going the hide from Him? Nope. Not going to happen. No place on the face of this earth can you hide from God that He cannot find you. And your assignment, should you choose to accept His assignment, He will give you all you need to be successful. You cannot hide. You cannot deter what God has put into motion for you to fulfill your destiny. You can either be slimed, or blessed. Your choice.

Open Letter to Nancy Pelosi #7

Hello friend. This is the last of the letters between us. Seven is the complete number and a good place to end. There has been so much going on in America, in the politics, and in our society that I fear America will never be the same nor will we have the same freedoms that you and I enjoy right now. There is such a division of power, good and evil and what is honorable and holy. I will continue to pray for you as the scriptures say.

Just going to take the time to remind us that God is always in control even when the times look gravely serious to our earthly eyes. So as reminders of who He is —

God made the universe and all that is in it. Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the Spirit resides in us. He makes His servants to be flames of fire for the dark world we live in and His angels are sent to minister to us when we feel like the light is waning.

We are all made in God’s image and through Jesus Christ we exist. God is the builder of everything and knows our hearts. Do not test God nor harden our hearts to Him, for His sword is shaper than any knife able to even separate soul and spirit.

We find mercy with Him. We find grace with Him. In the hard times He is our anchor and confidence that we are firm and secure. He is able to save completely those who come to Him believing that He is.

When we place our hope in God we serve our eternal I Am. The Bible is words that have been God-breathed and penned by man. By having the very breath of God in the words, we stand secure in the knowledge that what is written is true and able to stand.

Because of what Jesus did on the cross we are able to stand with full assurance of faith in Him that our prayers will be heard by God the Father. We do not see the future but we stand firm on the knowledge that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Therefore, because of His great and precious promises we need to live our lives in holy fear, run our race without wavering and look forward to the place where Jesus is forever. So we should worship God in reverence and in godly fear because Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday, and forever, and our God is a consuming fire.

I pray that your spirit listens closely to truth. I pray that your life be a mirror of God’s goodness. I pray that your soul not be overcome by the evil of the day and that the honorable power that comes only from knowing Him and submitting to His power will dawn on your life. I know that we are far apart from believing in the same things for the future, but with God all things are possible and I am believing for the impossible, therefore, I pray.

Open Letter to Nancy # 6

And the Crowd Cheers…

Hello friend. I am very sad and very confused at what America is becoming. I am deeply disturbed and I hope you are too. Here is a little of what has me anxious.

There was a law passed in 2019 that both the democrats and republicans agreed on. The PACT Act protects animals against abuse including killing painfully and sexual exploitation and makes such a United States federal crime. Penalty is a fine or prison up to seven years. What bothers me a little is part of the wording “living non-human mammals, birds, reptiles, or amphibians.”

And the crowd cheered…

In 2004 there is a law that states that an unborn baby if it is killed by assault or other physical harm to the mother that the perpetrator can be charged with murder. The actual reading of the law, “As used in this section, the term “unborn child” means a child in utero, and the term “child in utero” or “child, who is in utero” means a member of the species homo sapiens, at any stage of development, who is carried in the womb. Then in the recent past New York made it legal to abort a human baby up until the mother has contractions.

And the crowd cheered…

Not long ago, two sheriff department employees were shot in the head. They were rushed to to hospital in critical condition unknown if they would live or die.

And the crowd cheered…

A person marching for what they believed in, different from those around him, was shot and killed.

And the crowd cheered…

Please, tell me when humans became less important than turtles or trees or worms or birds. Tell me when it became okay to kill someone because they think differently than you do. Tell me when burning and stealing and spitting on people became okay. Tell me why it is okay for soldiers to fight and die to give people the right to protest peacefully. Tell me when peaceful became burning and looting and beating and killing. Friend, I have chosen to love you as a friend, but as a friend I am asking you to see what I see and hear the cries of the raped and beaten and the tears of the children as they are sold into slavery. I thought slavery was a bad thing in your eyes but are you looking away from the children now?

I hope you can see my confusion of what is perceived as being right and wrong, good and bad. Killing is bad. Being kind is good. Burning something that does not belong to you is bad. Helping protect the weak is good. America gives people more rights than any country and these people want America to die. Why? Because we call what is good, good and what is bad, bad? I pray that as a godly woman in power you see truth in justice. I fear for this land. I fear for you.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter…which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him…Therefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people.” from Isaiah 5:20-25 KJV

May we both be humbled before God and seek His wisdom, His knowledge, and His grace in this time of turmoil. Where we have wronged people, may God forgive us and help us heal the wounds. Where we have been harmed, may God help us forgive the ones who caused the harm. May we see people through the lens of compassion instead of hatred. May God be merciful to us. Hear our prayer.

In Christ’s love – Kathy
